How do I get my authority?
If you are new in business, and need help obtaining trucking authority, visit Your Authority Service.
I am just starting out on my own - can I expect to pay more than more established companies?
In short, yes. However, we have a variety of stable insurance carriers with programs in place that are designed for the new venture, and which will provide you peace of mind and affordable trucking insurance coverage.
What information do you need in order to get me the best trucking insurance quote?
For starters, you can fill out our trucker's application. However, some insurance companies require more information than others, so the more information we receive from you, the more companies we can approach for you. This helps us to do the best job for you. Typically, we like to have the following information:
- Equipment list with year, make, VIN #'s, and values
- Driver list with name, date of birth, DL #, date of hire, and number of years CDL
- Loss information for the past 3 years on liability, physical damage, and cargo
- Financial statements for accounts with more than 15 power units
- Past 4 quarters fuel tax reports
- List of all types of cargo carried and % of each
How long does it take to get my truck insurance quote?
Once we receive all of the necessary information, we can usually have a quote inside 2 days for accounts with less than 10 power units, inside 14 days with accounts with 11-25 power units, and inside 30 days with accounts with 25-100 power units. Accounts with more than 100 power units require 45-60 days from the time we receive all information.
How quickly can I get my filings in place?
Typically, filings can be in place within 24 hours from the date we bind coverage. However, TXDOT has newer, more stringent requirements on its Form E filings than in previous years, so we need more time now than in the past. If it is a new venture and the paperwork has not been completed, it may take substantially longer, though.
